Salt Therapy FAQ's
What is Dry Salt Therapy?
Dry Salt Therapy as known as Halotherapy is a dry salt therapy that utilizes a halogenerator to grind and crush salt into micronized particles that are dispersed into the SALT Booth via a dry salt aerosol that works to aid respiratory concerns and skin conditions.
Himalayan Salt is fine to digest/eat; however is NOT good to inhale as it has minerals that are non-water soluable that could stay lodged in your respiratory system.
How long is a typical session?
We offer a personal booth session which allows you to benefit more quickly from the salt; therefore a session requires just 10-15 minutes max to absorb the most health benefit.
What should I wear in the Salt Booth?
Loose, comfortable, light-colored clothing that you can relax in works best. If you are using Dry Salt Therapy for a skin condition, you'll want to have that area exposed. A bathing suit is appropriate, as well. Or, if you'd prefer you may use one of our Bamboo Towel Spa Wraps for your visit.
How many sessions do I need? How Often?
Of course, based on your condition and symptoms, this can vary. The Salt Therapy Association recommends a series of treatments. For general respiratory support and allergies 1-2 times a week; for COPD 2-3 times a week is recommended. However, we are happy to discuss the right program for your individual needs.
Are there any side effects of dry salt therapy?
There are no potentially harmful side effects of Dry Salt Therapy. The treatment is completely natural. A slight cough or a runny nose is possible and actually a good sign to help clear mucus and toxins from the lungs and airways.
How do I need to prepare for my session?
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
It's extremely important that you are well hydrated prior to and after your session. Drink plenty of water. We will offer you a hydrating drink prior to and after your session, so plan to arrive a few minutes early to enjoy a glass of hydration.
